The techniques of Hatha Yoga are specifically designed to aid the purification of the physical body. When it is purified, then all the systems work in harmony with one another. Also, the breath functions smoother, providing the body with the energy that is required. This creates a positive circle, where all the dimensions of our being exist in a greater harmony. It is very important to attend a regular yoga class and yoga workhsops on topics of your intererest.

Raja Yoga explores  the mind, and it is called the royal path. The path of meditation. The mind is becoming aware of its own patterns and functioning, and progresses towards its own awakening.

 

 

Karma Yoga is the path of detached action. It is a form of dynamic meditation and it can be incorporated in all actions. Swami Satyananda mentioned that in order to receive the benefits of any form of yoga, we have to incorporate Karma Yoga into it.

 

 

Nada yoga uses the sound as a transformative tool. Sound or vibration, is the first manifestation of consciousness and from this, the movement of matter occurs. Mantras relax the senses, purify the mind, turning it inwards and thus inducing a meditative state.

 

 

Bhakti yoga is actually the yoga of devotion and the path of offering all of our feelings to the divine. Thus they are expressed, purified and transformed into bhava, which is the complete channeling of all the raised feelings to the One.

 

 

 

 

 

The extraordinary fact is that all these aspects of yoga are interconnected and related. They sound or look different but actually they are different aspects and approaches of one thing.

This one thing which is Consciousness manifests into endless things. All these many paths lead to the same one goal, which is the expansion of Awareness.

Yoga is so vast, like the oceans, like the stars, that it cannot be explained with words but rather experienced through its many wonderful practices.
