In the western world, we are familiar with Hatha Yoga that works to restore the balance between the two sides of the brain and consequently the two sides of the body. It aims to physical and mental health, relaxation, and the awakening of the deep potential in women and men.

Hatha Yoga

has techniques that can bring many physical, mental and spiritual benefits when practised. Asana (body posture), pranayama (breathing technique), relaxation and meditation techniques have infinite benefits. Most importantly it promotes good breathing and therefore better oxygenation of all organs.

There is also a decrease in stress hormone levels and an increase in those related to relaxation and pleasure. The body remains active, flexible and young, and the spine that is the centre of the body regains its plasticity and flexibility. Other disciplines of yoga, such as Nada Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, use different tools to bring people into balance and have a common denominator of awareness.

Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.

as Sage Patanjali taught in the Yoga Sutras. Simply put, yoga is that meditative state where the mind is relaxed and focused at the same time. Then thoughts seize to dominate.

Yoga means Union.

Union of mind-body and Awareness. When these three expressions of existence are in harmony and collaboration, we have the experience of wholeness.

Online Yoga classes are also available.

Yoga inspired by Vanda Scaravelli

(online option for these classes is available)

Alexandra Sotiropoulou is practising yoga since 1996 and has been teaching since 2003.

Scaravelli inspired yoga is a unique and very special way of practising and teaching and is suitable for everyone, regardless of their physical condition or age that inspires more practitioners to listen to their bodies and go with it rather than against it.

Alexandra Sotiropoulou teaches big and small groups as well as private lessons. She highly recommends one to one teaching one to one and gladly welcomes those who come with an open mind, ready to leave the old one to welcome the new.

The main ingredient of yoga is genuine curiosity, which can also be called innocence. Yoga needs to maintain its scientific approach, but above all, it is important to cultivate its poetic side. The right and left hemispheres of the brain create a person who can calculate and dream, a person that can plan ahead but can also adapt to changes and different situations. Someone who is receptive to the wonder of life.

Then, she can express her potential and move on to live inspired and inspiring others. Yoga can not happen later or afterwards nor in the footprints of yesterday, because then it is not yoga but something academic at best.

Yoga is the culture of tomorrow

Yoga is an ancient science and an art, cultivated and understood by those enlightened teachers who transmitted this knowledge to us.

It is a powerful tool to deal with the stress and anxiety of today and its practices are evolving to meet the needs of the modern woman and man.

It provides this significant pause, that restores balance, health, and understanding at all levels.

Yoga is like a tree rooted deep into the earth, with its many branches reaching towards the sky.

Like the branches of the tree, it has many different approaches, and this is because the man is such an incredible and multidimensional being.
